The Helnan Phonix is housed in an historic 18th century red brick building which has been a hotel since 1853. Situated in the center of Aalborg, the city's shops, bars and zoo are within 500 meters. The 220 guestrooms have a warm d�cor with dark carpets, simple white walls and patterned bedspreads. Modern amenities include cable television, high speed Internet access and minibars.
Guests can enjoy a buffet breakfast each morning and the Restaurant Brigad�eren serves Danish specialties and international dishes in an English style setting. After busy day, guests can work out in the fitness center, relax in the sauna, enjoy a drink in the bar with its Chesterfield sofas. The hotel offers an array of amenities including dry cleaning service, concierge, free Internet, and limited room service. In summertime there is also a garden terrace. For entertainment guests can wander down to Jomfru Anegade, Aarlborg's bar district, or head for the zoo or Tivoli Park, a lunar themed park, all to be found within 500 meters. It is also possible to take a boat cruise to the fjords while those who like a drop of the hard stuff might want to visit the only remaining Danish distillery of akvavit, the national drink.
