Location. The two storey Hotel Orleans is located in Palermo, on the island of Sicily, Italy. The hotel is 400 metres from the historical Palazzo Reale, 500 metres from Palermo Cathedral and two kilometres from the beach. Orleans metro station is 300 metres from the hotel.
Hotel Features. The Hotel Orleans is situated at the edge of Palermo's historic centre and is a refurbished 19th century villa with a garden planted with aromatic orange, lemon and jasmine. There is limited hours room service, an Internet lounge, wireless Internet access and parking (surcharge). Other amenities include complimentary newspapers, dry cleaning services and airport transport, with surcharge.
The hotel serves a complimentary continental breakfast. Although there is no restaurant on site, there are plenty of places to eat in the vicinity.
The hotel staff can arrange city tours, bike hire and scooter rental.
Guestrooms. The Hotel Orleans has 12 rooms on two floors featuring contemporary decor in muted tones. All rooms have climate control, wireless Internet access, satellite television, direct dial telephones, safes and hair dryers.
Expert Tip. In many respects, Palermo is a thoroughly modern city. Music, fashion and the arts are all thriving, but take a visit to the centre of old Palermo and little seems to have changed over the centuries. A maze of narrow streets, alleyways and barbers' shops rub shoulders with baroque churches and sweeping piazzas. Look out for the lively markets that have been running for more than 100 years in the Albergheria and Vucciria quarters.

From Palermo Airport (PMO):
Distance to Hotel Orleans is 34 kilometres, approximately 40 minutes' drive.
Getting there. The express train is the best way to get to the hotel from the airport, which runs to Palermo central station, 1.5 kilometres from the hotel. Orleans metro station is two stops from here and about 300 metres from the hotel. Taxis cost around 50 EUR to the hotel. Prices are all subject to change.
Getting around. A bus and underground train network serves Palermo. An inexpensive rail network links Sicily's larger towns, including Palermo, Messina, Catania, Taormina, and Syracuse. Buses run throughout the towns and many of the smaller villages. A car is recommended for exploring the less touristy areas.
