Location. The Mediterranean style Best Western Lake Tarpon Hotel in Palm Harbor, Fla., hugs an inlet that empties into Lake Tarpon. The hotel is close to the Tarpon Lake which offers opportunities for scuba diving and water skiing. Horseback riding, bird watching, golf and other recreational opportunities are also available. The Greek village of Tarpon Springs, often described as the sponge fishing capital of the world, features, deep sea fishing excursions, cruises and more than 25 restaurants and bakeries within five miles of the hotel. Clearwater Beach is just 15 miles away and within 21 miles are St. Petersburg Clearwater Airport and Tampa International airports.
Hotel Features. The hotel's tropical ambience is enhanced by towering palms, lush landscaping and a waterfront dock. The lobby features glazed tile flooring, abundant greenery and rattan furnishings. Complimentary continental breakfast is offered each morning, and beginning in late afternoons the Sam Seltzer Steakhouse offers a variety of appetizing fare. Property amenities include a business center featuring complimentary high speed Internet access. Additionally, a fitness center with treadmills and a weight station, a refreshing pool and a spa tub are on site.
Guestrooms. The 98 guestrooms feature complimentary wireless Internet access, light wood fixtures and furnished step out balconies or patios. Standard guestrooms with views of the inlet are also available.
Expert Tip.The 129 acre Anderson Park, only three miles from the hotel, features a Paw Playground with green fenced areas, cooling stations and dog level water fountains for unleashed four legged friends.
